Fantastically fresh. Wine carried by its acidity, aromas of white peach, vanilla and oak in the nose.
The Geil family has been known as a wine-growing family in Bechtheim for about a century and a half. Karl Geil and his wife Monika Bierschenk are the proud and very sympathetic owners of this domain. Nowadays it is the son Johannes who is responsible for winemaking. This young guy (1977) is a real super talent and was given the title “discovery of the year 2004” by Gault-Millau. Together with his father Karl, who is responsible for the vineyards given his decades of experience, and mother Monika, responsible for the administration, and wife Elli, this is a close-knit, hard-working, successful team.nThe secret? Low returns, working with respect for nature, an individual approach per grape variety and an almost maniacal search for quality. The Geil vineyards are located on the heavier soils around Bechtheim. If you had to briefly summarize Geil’s wines, you would end up with: accessible, juicy, pronounced. A wine style with a “smile”.
