It all began in 1987 with a vision: to harness the full potential of Chile as a wine country and produce wines of the highest possible quality. That was the dream of Aurelio Montes and his three partners when they founded their winery. And with success! Today, Montes ranks among the absolute top Chilean wine producers, with Aurelio recently crowned the country’s most influential winemaker. Montes’ five vineyards, spread across the Curico Valley and Colchagua Valley, cover an impressive 600 hectares. In 2004, a state-of-the-art winery was opened in Apalta, designed according to the principles of the Chinese Feng Shui philosophy. Aurelio Jr. has since also proven himself to be a talented winemaker, and together with his father, they form a passionate and successful duo.
