It was rumored that Boekenhoutskloof actually mixed chocolate through the wine but that’s nonsense. This is the ultimate blend wine, where no less than 5 grape varieties have been used. The plots where the grapes come from are also far apart. The idea is that they are looking for the very best grapes wherever they might grow. Another example of a cult wine with this philosophy is Grange from Australia, whose grapes can come from all over South Australia.
